Account Manager - Cape Town

Our client is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join their team and take responsibility for managing client relationships, overseeing accounting functions, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. This role is suited to a professional with strong accounting experience who enjoys working directly with clients, managing deadlines, reviewing financial information, and supporting the development of junior team members. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining client satisfaction while identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery.

• Managing a portfolio of clients and maintaining strong client relationships
• Coordinating accounting services and ensuring client requirements are met
• Providing guidance and training to junior team members
• Performing independent reviews
• Compiling annual financial statements
• Calculating income tax and provisional tax returns
• Managing deadlines and ensuring timely completion of deliverables
• Reviewing bi-monthly VAT reconciliations and VAT201 submissions
• Reviewing monthly accounting data captured on Xero
• Reviewing and submitting payroll reports and EMP201 submissions
• Reviewing and/or performing financial statement compilations
• Assisting with ad hoc accounting and client-related duties as required

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3-5 years' experience in an accounting environment
• BCom Accounting degree preferred
• Qualified SAIPA Professional Accountant, ACCA member, or AGA(SA) member preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance, VAT, payroll, and financial reporting
• Experience working with accounting software, preferably Xero
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• Fluent in Afrikaans (spoken and written)
