Shift Boss (Production Supervisor)

Responsible for leading and supervising underground mining production activities, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and coordinate daily underground mining operations.
- Ensure daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Enforce compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, company policies, and statutory regulations.
- Read, interpret, and implement mining plans and layouts.
- Lead, coach, and manage production teams to achieve operational objectives.
- Monitor workplace conditions and identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure adherence to labour, safety, and production standards.
- Conduct workplace inspections and promote a strong safety culture.
- Complete accurate production and safety reports.
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- National Certificate (NQF Level 3) Rock Breaker or a valid Underground Hard Rock Blasting Certificate.
- Shift Supervisor Certificate.
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Conventional Underground Mining Shift Supervisor/Shift Boss.
- Computer literacy (MS Word and MS Excel).
- Sound knowledge of underground mining practices and Mine Health and Safety legislation.
- Ability to read and interpret mining plans and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict management skills.
- Physically fit and medically fit to work underground.
