Senior Specialist: Revenue Accounting

Role Purpose

Provide assistance in the analyzation and interpretation of revenue transactions and contractual revenue arrangements to ensure that revenue is recognised accurately as per the requirements of IFRS 15 and processed in the accounting system.

Role Description

Preparation of month end activities - this includes month end journals and revenue recognition - monthly to ensure business activities are appropriately accounted for. Accurately present the financials and ensure that analysis of financial results is documented and communicated in a timely manner.Review of journals prepared by the specialists. Revenue recognition: Adhering to relevant IFRS standard for complete and accurate reporting ERP systems (i.e.Microsoft Dynamics 365 , HFM and Anaplan) Extract data from various billing platforms (i.e. BRM) to be used for revenue recognition. Extract and prepare Service Delivery report to be used for accrual accounting. Extract and prepare CDR report to be used for accrual accounting. Ensure no unrecorded revenue from monthly billing reports. Prepare and sign off on monthly billing to revenue recon. Analyse once off project revenue for proper accounting. Revenue recognition for Wholesale Voice (WSV) Extract billing data from Springboard billing platform to be used for Revenue recognition. Review and Analysing the Churn and Non-churn reporting Prepare Operations and Maintenance schedules for all applicable contracts.

Customer First (Improve customer experience and loyalty)

Attend to; Resolve and follow through on queries and specific request from business. e.g. revenue analysis reports Prepare monthly analysis of revenue movement per component for use by Business. Provide Revenue Management support to the Sales team and address any of their ad hoc requests. Assist in the preparation of the customer level file broken down to customer detail monthly. Prepare accurate HFM & Anaplan files for submission to Reporting within deadlines submitted by reporting Assist with the preparation of the revenue AFS disclosures and notes.

Prepare accurate, complete, and timely monthly MIS segment reports, product, voice and data, with breakup of NRC, MRC and Usage components by day 6.

Prepare a monthly analysis of revenue movement per component. Satisfactorily attend stakeholder's queries on MIS reports. Timely and accurate reporting of OPCO decks and MPR Slides Initiate digitisation for manual intensive processes Review and submission of accurate balance sheet reconciliations and submission to FloQast Internal All Employees Preparation and submission of accurate Short/Long term split of deferred revenue balance to reporting.

Effective management of revenue from projects

Tracking and Maintaining of all revenue projects Ensure Revenue recognition is supported, get Sign off from the customer /project manager and confirm that revenue is recorded in the correct period. Preparing a monthly journal of deferred projects that are not fully delivered and follow up on their completion status Maintaining all billing in unearned relating to projects and follow up for signs offs, resulting in releasing the revenue. Regular analysis of back-billing and confirming that revenue is recorded in the correct period. Ensure that all deferred revenue & IRU’s monthly amortization are supported by schedules. Assist with the monthly preparation of Flash numbers.

Ad-hoc functions from time to time

Transfer of skills to team members, and overall assistance to the team. (Empower & Develop Others) Share knowledge and demonstrate cooperation and collaboration (with team members) to achieve team goals Preparing customised reports for any stakeholder that requires, and Weekly Usage tracking and reporting Assist with the documentation of new operational procedures and processed and updates to the Revenue Management Policies.

B-tech Degree/ BCom/ or Honours Degree: Essential

3 Years Financial Accounting, Data Analysis Experience: Essential

Knowledge of ERP systems i.e. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365:Essential

Microsoft Office i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, Word:Essential
