Financial Assistant - Cape Town

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong background in debtors and financial administration? Our client, based in De Waterkant, Cape Town, is looking for a Financial Assistant to join their growing finance team.
This role is ideally suited to someone with a solid financial background who enjoys managing debtor accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting day-to-day finance operations. Approximately 90% of the role focuses on the debtors function, with additional responsibilities including invoicing, receipting, and banking.
- Manage the full debtors function from start to finish.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Perform debtor reconciliations and resolve account queries.
- Maintain accurate debtor records and account balances.
- Process customer invoices and credit notes.
- Allocate and receipt customer payments accurately.
- Perform daily banking functions and assist with bank reconciliations.
- Prepare debtors reports and assist with month-end procedures.
- Liaise with customers and internal departments regarding account-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company financial procedures.
- BCom Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Auditing, or a related financial field.
- Previous training or experience within an auditing firm.
- SAICA or SAIPA articles will be advantageous.
- Experience working with Xero and Sage.
- Strong understanding of debtors, invoicing, receipting, and banking processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
