Financial Assistant - Cape Town

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong background in debtors and financial administration? Our client, based in De Waterkant, Cape Town, is looking for a Financial Assistant to join their growing finance team.

This role is ideally suited to someone with a solid financial background who enjoys managing debtor accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting day-to-day finance operations. Approximately 90% of the role focuses on the debtors function, with additional responsibilities including invoicing, receipting, and banking.

  • Manage the full debtors function from start to finish.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Perform debtor reconciliations and resolve account queries.
  • Maintain accurate debtor records and account balances.
  • Process customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Allocate and receipt customer payments accurately.
  • Perform daily banking functions and assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare debtors reports and assist with month-end procedures.
  • Liaise with customers and internal departments regarding account-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company financial procedures.
  • BCom Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Auditing, or a related financial field.
  • Previous training or experience within an auditing firm.
  • SAICA or SAIPA articles will be advantageous.
  • Experience working with Xero and Sage.
  • Strong understanding of debtors, invoicing, receipting, and banking processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
