Estimator

Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of delivering quality infrastructure projects across the roads, earthworks and township services sectors. As their project portfolio continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their pre-contracts team and play a key role in securing profitable civil engineering projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented construction professional with strong estimating expertise and commercial acumen to prepare competitive tenders, evaluate project risks and contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Estimator within a medium to large construction company
• Minimum 5 years' site experience within the civil construction industry, preferably in roads, earthworks and/or township services
• Advanced proficiency in CCS Estimating and Planning Modules
• Strong knowledge of GCC, NEC, FIDIC and JBCC contracts, as well as SANS, COLTO and COTO specifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive tender submissions by reviewing drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities and project requirements
• Conduct quantity take-offs, evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, and identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender documentation
• Manage the procurement process during tendering by obtaining quotations, preparing buying schedules and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
