Our client has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Discipline Lead to oversee the delivery of innovative mechanical engineering solutions within the building services industry. This role is ideal for a technically accomplished professional who enjoys leading teams, maintaining engineering excellence, and contributing to the successful execution of multidisciplinary projects.
Requirements
- BTech, BEng, or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA.
- At least 8 years of post-registration experience within mechanical building services.
- Proven expertise in HVAC and wet services.
- Solid understanding of applicable legislation, engineering standards, and project safety requirements.
- Additional exposure to fire protection, refrigeration, building management systems, medical gas systems, LPG services, industrial mechanical services, water and wastewater infrastructure, or project management will be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical engineering discipline and provide strategic technical direction.
- Deliver mechanical building services designs using appropriate engineering software.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review engineering documentation, technical reports, and design drawings.
- Conduct site inspections, construction monitoring, compliance audits, and commissioning activities.
- Manage quality assurance and quality control processes across projects.
- Ensure successful project delivery in terms of scope, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Mentor and develop mechanical engineering staff while promoting engineering best practices.
