SAIPA Trainee Accountant - Pretoria

Our client, a well-established accounting and advisory firm based in Pretoria, is looking to appoint a motivated and ambitious SAIPA Trainee Accountant to join their professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or aspiring accounting professional to complete their SAIPA articles within a supportive environment while gaining valuable exposure to accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and statutory compliance across a diverse portfolio of clients.

• Perform bookkeeping functions up to trial balance.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
• Process VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of individual and company income tax returns.
• Support senior accountants with tax computations and provisional tax calculations.
• Assist with SARS queries, audits, and general compliance matters.
• Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for client files.
• Liaise professionally with clients and assist with accounting and tax-related queries.

• Completed or currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting, Financial Accounting, Accounting Sciences, or another SAIPA-accredited qualification.
• Strong academic record and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in accounting.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and taxation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn, develop professionally, and build a long-term career within an accounting practice.
