SAIPA Trainee Accountant - Pretoria

Our client, a well-established accounting and advisory firm based in Pretoria, is looking to appoint a motivated and ambitious SAIPA Trainee Accountant to join their professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or aspiring accounting professional to complete their SAIPA articles within a supportive environment while gaining valuable exposure to accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and statutory compliance across a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Perform bookkeeping functions up to trial balance.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
- Process VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of individual and company income tax returns.
- Support senior accountants with tax computations and provisional tax calculations.
- Assist with SARS queries, audits, and general compliance matters.
- Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for client files.
- Liaise professionally with clients and assist with accounting and tax-related queries.
- Completed or currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting, Financial Accounting, Accounting Sciences, or another SAIPA-accredited qualification.
- Strong academic record and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in accounting.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and taxation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn, develop professionally, and build a long-term career within an accounting practice.
