SUMMARY

A leading international organisation is seeking an experienced

Shipping Document Controller to manage the end-to-end administration of import and export shipments across Africa.

This is not a warehouse or distribution logistics role. We are looking for a candidate with hands-on experience in freight forwarding, shipping documentation, import/export processes and container tracking

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Prepare and verify commercial invoices, packing lists and export documentation. Compile and manage Letter of Credit documentation. Coordinate and track international import and export shipments. Monitor container movements and proactively follow up on shipment status. Ensure Bills of Lading and all shipping documentation are accurate and issued on time. Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, factories, banks and clients to resolve documentation and shipment queries. Ensure original shipping documents are dispatched timeously to enable customs clearance. Maintain accurate shipment status reports and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with client, banking and international shipping requirements. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field (advantageous). Minimum 3 years' experience in international freight forwarding, shipping documentation or import/export administration. Proven experience tracking international shipments and coordinating freight movements. Solid understanding of Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, commercial invoices, packing lists and customs documentation. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working on freight forwarding or logistics systems advantagous. Key Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong planning, organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work under pressure while meeting strict international shipping deadlines. High level of integrity, accountability and professionalism.
