Duties: Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for: Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise LAN, WAN and wireless networking environments. Administering and maintaining FortiGate firewalls, security policies, VPNs, NAT and perimeter security. Supporting enterprise routing and switching technologies including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, STP and high availability solutions. Managing Azure networking, hybrid cloud connectivity and Microsoft cloud networking services. Monitoring network performance, capacity and availability while proactively identifying potential risks. Troubleshooting complex network, firewall and connectivity incidents across production environments. Supporting disaster recovery planning, failover testing and business continuity initiatives. Working closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Database and Application teams to deliver secure and reliable services. Managing relationships with ISPs, vendors and third-party service providers. Ensuring all infrastructure changes comply with governance, security and change management standards. Maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams and operational procedures. Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the network environment. Job Experience & Skills Required: Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12) Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline. Experience: Minimum 5-7 years' experience within enterprise network engineering. Proven hands-on experience administering FortiGate firewalls. Strong experience supporting Extreme Networks switching environments. Advanced knowledge of enterprise routing and switching. Practical Azure networking and hybrid cloud experience. Experience supporting enterprise monitoring solutions. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Fortinet NSE4/NSE5 (or current Fortinet equivalent) Microsoft Azure Network Engineer (AZ-700) CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Security ITIL Foundation Experience within Financial Services or another highly regulated environment.
