Reporting directly to senior financial leadership, this role serves as the second-in-command within the finance function and offers significant exposure to strategic decision-making, business operations, and organisational performance. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for financial excellence, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Compliance Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information presented to executive management. Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards, legislative requirements, and governance frameworks. Assist with the preparation of board packs, management reports, and financial presentations. Strategic Planning & Financial Performance Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning processes. Provide financial analysis and insights to support informed business decisions. Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for growth and operational efficiencies. Partner with leadership teams to drive profitability and business improvement initiatives. Finance Leadership & Team Management Act as a key support to senior financial leadership in managing the overall finance function. Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members to ensure high levels of performance and accountability. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Manage workload planning and resource allocation within the finance department. Controls, Governance & Process Improvement Evaluate and strengthen financial controls, policies, and procedures. Drive process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reporting accuracy. Ensure robust risk management and governance practices are maintained across the finance function. Support audit processes and implement recommendations where necessary. Cash Flow & Stakeholder Management Oversee cash flow management and working capital performance. Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to operational and executive stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support key business objectives. Act as a trusted finance partner across the organisation. Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualified CA(SA) is essential. 10-15 years of finance and accounting experience. Minimum 5 years' people management experience within a finance environment. Proven success in a senior financial management role. Strong financial reporting experience is non-negotiable. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams. Experience within the property, development, or related industries will be advantageous. Strong systems proficiency and advanced computer literacy. Excellent understanding of financial controls, reporting requirements, and business operations.
