Role Description

The Senior Hair Stylist is a full-time, on-site role at Mode Hair Boutique in Big Bay, Cape Town. This is a rare opportunity to step into an established column and take over a loyal, well-maintained clientele from day one — no building from scratch. The role involves delivering high-quality cutting, colouring, blonding, extensions, and smoothing services with a consistent, personalised client experience. Day-to-day work includes thorough consultations, recommending appropriate services and at-home care products, performing advanced technical work, and maintaining the salon's reputation for warm, exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in precision cutting for ladies and gents

• Advanced blonding expertise (foils, balayage, lived-in colour) and strong all-round colour work, from natural enhancements to creative shades

• Experience with tape-in hair extensions

• Proficiency in smoothing treatments

• Confident consultations, clear communication, and proven ability to build and retain long-term client relationships

• Product knowledge and retail confidence, including at-home care recommendations

• Recognised hairdressing qualification with several years of senior-level salon experience

• Up-to-date with current trends and techniques, with a willingness to keep learning

• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to manage a busy column without compromising service quality

• A strong portfolio and/or active social media presence showcasing your work
