Human Resources Generalist

Our client is seeking a highly capable HR Generalist to deploy human resources management processes. The HR Generalist will collaborate with management to drive key responsibilities in line with the human resources functional strategy with a key focus on Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition. This is a critical business-facing role requiring someone who can operate with autonomy, business acumen, efficiency, credibility and relatability. The successful candidate will need to balance tactical planning and hands-on operational execution.
• Employee Relations – Establish and maintain stable employer-employee relations and lead the following processes:
o Management-union forums
o Wage negotiations
o Grievance hearings and Disciplinary hearings o Incapacity management
o Dispute management: Conciliations, Arbitrations
o Organisational restructuring (where applicable)
• Talent Acquisition – Compile resourcing/staffing plans, recruit, select, place and induct new talent in line with applicable turnaround times, company policies and Employment Equity targets
• HR Administration & Document Control – Implement “Hire to Resign/Retire” administrative transactions and ensure proper record keeping and filing of all activities
• Policy and Procedure Reviews & Implementation – Compile and/or review policies and procedures for further approval and ensure fair and consistent application.
• Job Profiling & Evaluation – Facilitate compilation of job profiles for use during recruitment, job evaluation or any other applicable process
• Organisational Design – Co-ordinate organisational design processes and collaborate with line managers in reviewing and updating organisational structures
• Change Management and Capacity building – Manage change, train and advise employees and managers on human resources processes, policies and procedures
• Reporting – Compile periodic reports on various HR analytics for effective decision making and interventions.
• Contractor Management – Manage service providers and/or hired labour agencies in way that ensures efficiency, effectiveness and compliance to service level agreements and applicable legislation
• Payment processing – Process payments for Human Resources’ services and consumables
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Law or related
• Valid driver's license essential and own reliable car preferred
• 5 years’ HR generalist experience servicing multiple functions in a manufacturing and multi unionized environment
• Solid working experience in Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition & policy and procedure reviews Knowledge:
