We build, acquire, lease-up and operate telecommunications towers that can accommodate and power the needs of multiple tenants. Our tenants are the major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and we serve them across nine high-growth markets across Africa and Oman in the Middle East. Overview
Reporting to the Director of QHSE, Property and Digital Governance, you will provide strategic leadership for Helios Towers' international property portfolio, ensuring our estate supports business growth while delivering commercial value, operational excellence and strong governance.
You will lead the Group Property function across our telecommunications sites, offices and warehouses, overseeing land acquisition governance, lease management, facilities management, permitting, landlord relationships and property strategy across multiple international markets.
Location: United Kingdom / South Africa / Oman
Role Responsibilities
As the Group Head of Property, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the Group Property strategy across telecommunications sites, offices and warehouses.
- Managing land acquisition governance and permitting processes for new site developments.
- Overseeing lease negotiations, renewals, landlord relationships and rental strategies across all markets.
- Managing office facilities, workplace projects, maintenance, health & safety and property operations.
- Providing commercial oversight of property-related expenditure, insurance and governance activities.
- Coordinating community engagement and stakeholder management throughout site development projects.
- Supporting property activities associated with acquisitions and integration of new assets.
- Driving governance, reporting and continuous improvement across the Group Property function.
- Leading and developing an international property team.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, investors, landlords and external partners.
Requirements For The Role
To succeed in the role, you will have:
- A degree in Property, Real Estate or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years' experience in commercial property, telecoms property or surveying.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience leading property teams or functions.
- Strong experience managing lease negotiations, landlord relationships and commercial property portfolios.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, planning and project management capability.
- Experience developing governance frameworks and driving operational improvements.
- Experience within telecommunications, infrastructure or a similarly asset-intensive industry.
- Professional membership such as MRICS or an equivalent property qualification is desirable.
- Experience working across multiple countries or emerging markets would be advantageous.
