Our client in the FMCG/Food Manufacturing industry is seeking to employ an experienced Regional Sales Manager to join their team based in Gauteng.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth, leading a high-performing regional sales team, developing strategic customer partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities across the Gauteng region.
POSITION INFO
Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business Management or a related field. A postgraduate qualification will be advantageous. Valid driver's licence. Minimum of 10 years' commercial sales experience within the FMCG, Consumer Goods or Food Manufacturing industry. Minimum of 5 years' experience leading and developing Sales Representatives or a regional sales team. Proven track record in business development, sales growth and key account management. Experience managing strategic retail, wholesale and Independent Trade customers. Strong commercial, financial and analytical acumen. Experience developing and implementing commercial sales strategies. Proven ability to negotiate pricing, trading agreements and customer contracts. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Experience with SAP, Salesforce or other CRM systems will be advantageous. Experience within leading FMCG organisations such as Unilever, Tiger Brands, PepsiCo, AVI, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, Nestlé, McCain Foods, AB InBev or similar will be highly advantageous. Experience managing national retail customers including Shoprite, Pick n Pay, SPAR, Makro and Independent Trade. Responsibilities Lead, coach, motivate and develop a team of Sales Representatives to achieve regional sales targets. Develop and execute commercial sales strategies that deliver profitable growth. Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing customer accounts. Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key retail, wholesale and independent customers. Negotiate pricing, promotional activities, trading terms and customer agreements. Monitor regional sales performance and implement improvement initiatives. Conduct regular coaching sessions and performance reviews. Analyse sales performance, customer profitability and market trends. Prepare sales forecasts, budgets and performance reports. Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure exceptional customer service and execution. Ensure effective account management while delivering sustainable and profitable business growth.
