SUMMARY

5* Sous Chef x 2

Our client based in the heart of George is on a recruitment drive for 2 x 5* Sous Chefs to join their team in various a la carte outlets.

The ideal candidates will be required to provide unique 5* product offering in all Hotel Outlets and Restaurants in line with changing guest dining trends, through continuous product development whilst maintaining cost effective food production standards and operational efficiencies.

Duties include but not limited to

  • Develop and analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food labour costs, and overhead costs
  • Keep abreast of trends in the culinary industry
  • Design special product offerings to maximize usage of stock and to make use of slow-moving stock
  • Coordinate planning,, budgeting, or purchasing for all the food operations within establishments to ensure efficient operations
  • Monitoring and controlling resources and assist in overseeing the spending of money (budgets)
  • providing guidance and direction to subordinates including training, coaching, mentoring, setting and monitoring performance standards and discipline,
  • Ensure that SHEQ & FCS requirements for each kitchen division are met

POSITION INFO

Qualification : Matric coupled with 3- year Culinary Arts Diploma through an internationally recognized institution Fluent in English and Afrikaans Fully computer literate - MS Office Suite, POS, SAP, etc. 3+ years working in a 5* Hotel or Luxury Resort Physically fit with the ability to work normal hospitality hours including public holidays, weekends and shifts Competencies : Keeps abreast of culinary trends and patters Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills Numerical acumen Problem solving Attention to detail Guest centric
