Field Technician (AgriTech - Scales Division)

We are #Hiring on behalf of our client, Adagin Technologies. They are an innovative Agri-tech business that has mastered bringing technology into the agricultural sector, by helping farms and packhouses operate more efficiently through smart weighing, measurement, and cloud-based solutions.

This new Field Technician will join the Scales division to service, calibrate, install, and maintain weighing and measurement systems at customer sites across farms in the Western Cape.

Working alongside our Head Technician, you will be exposed to a variety of technical work, from fault finding and preventative maintenance to installations and customer support. It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and getting out into the field rather than sitting behind a desk.

Having a background in electronics, IT, or computer hardware coupled with any form of exposure to agriculture, farming, or packhouse environments would be a great fit!

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Calibrate, service, and maintain weighing and measurement systems.
• Install new hardware and equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and network faults.
• Configure routers, access points, and local network environments.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Perform workshop repairs during quieter periods.
• Provide support to the Cloud Division when required.
• Complete job cards accurately, including hours worked and parts used.
• Record service work and maintenance completed.
• Report ongoing and completed work to the Senior Technician.
• Assist with stock checks and basic workshop administration.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Respond to scheduled service calls and technical call-outs.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Electronics, IT, Computer Hardware, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical field service role.
• Experience diagnosing computer hardware faults.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting local network environments.
• Valid South African driver's license.
• Own reliable transport to the Stellenbosch office.
• Fluent in Afrikaans.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Western Cape and occasionally to other provinces.
