Handyman

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Senior Technician
• Execute reactive maintenance and repair tasks within required timeframes
• Apply approved maintenance procedures and best practices at all times
• Identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions
• Compile and submit weekly check sheets and job completion reports
• Request required materials and tools for maintenance activities
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and work environment
• Complete an average of 4 work orders per day, ensuring quality and accuracy
• Assist with transportation of employees when required
• Support installation, repair, and maintenance across multiple trades:
• Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, tiling, drywall, flooring Adhere to SHEQ policies (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001) and site safety standards
• Carry out ad hoc duties as requested by supervisors or management

Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

Basic knowledge of:

• Plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and general building maintenance
• Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely
• Fault finding and basic troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions

Qualifications

Education

• Grade 12

Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience Experience working across multiple trades (basic level)

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s licence
