Microsoft Power BI Developer

Our client is seeking a skilled Microsoft Power BI Developer to join a high-performing Business Intelligence team. This permanent remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys transforming complex data into meaningful business insights while working with leading clients in the financial services sector. Candidates must have their own PC and reliable internet connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to understand business needs and reporting requirements.
• Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain Microsoft SQL and Power BI data models, ETL processes, and integrations.
• Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, KPI scorecards, and visualisations.
• Create and maintain Paginated Reports for report distribution.
• Develop and manage Power BI Dataflows to improve data preparation and transformation.
• Optimise SQL queries, views, and Power BI performance.
• Administer and optimise Power BI environments, including Gateway management and scheduled data refreshes.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, cleansing, and transformation.
• Collaborate closely with clients, providing technical guidance and responding to feedback.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field.
• Microsoft certifications will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience developing and deploying Power BI solutions.
• Strong Microsoft SQL development skills.
• Experience working with Power BI Premium features.
• Understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data transformation.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Windows, networking fundamentals, and application support.
• Knowledge of accounting principles will be beneficial.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa and willing to undergo credit, criminal, or other background checks if required.
