Job Summary
We're looking for a SQL Data Analyst to craft insightful and compelling data stories, empower business stakeholders to make more effective data-driven decisions, and help build a self-service data platform.
You'll solve complex data challenges alongside a collaborative team, helping transform data into actionable insights that drive business growth and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently gather requirements for, prioritize, deliver, maintain, and continuously improve reusable data models, dashboards, analyses, A/B tests, and other data assets. Act as the product manager and implementer for your domain's data offerings using advanced SQL and BI tools.
- Become the subject matter expert for data within your business areas. Identify opportunities for impact, proactively surface insights, support decision-making, and influence business strategy. Serve as a trusted partner to business stakeholders while supporting other business areas as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive data documentation, communicate updates to stakeholders, write user stories for data engineering, validate data mapping, conduct QA, and implement data quality monitoring.
- Monitor the usage of data assets, increase data literacy, and promote self-service through BI tools by providing training, guidance, and ongoing support.
- Work within a centralized data team using agile methodologies. Collaborate with peer analysts through shared initiatives, shifting priorities, and code reviews to broaden your business and technical knowledge.
- Partner with data architects, engineers, scientists, and analysts to help shape the vision and roadmap for the organization's data platform. Define and track annual OKRs to measure your impact.
Requirements
7+ years of experience as a Data Analyst supporting business stakeholders and collaborating with data engineers (experience in the energy or construction industry is a plus, but not required).
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and BI tools (experience with Databricks and Sigma is a plus, but not required).
Strong track record of independently solving complex problems.
Passion for using data to drive business decisions and support sustainability initiatives.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas and insights to stakeholders across the organization.
Proven initiative in improving processes, products, or services, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend creative, data-driven solutions.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Eagerness to understand business operations and apply that knowledge to support strategic decision-making.
