We work flexi hours, in the office on Mondays and Thursdays and remotely the rest of the week.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our accounting team, own the annual financial statements and tax function, manage client relationships, and drive our Xero / Xero Practice Manager (XPM) systems. You’ll be the senior, hands on accounting anchor between the junior team and our CA or tax advisor.

What you’ll do

• Supervise, support and develop a team of accounting clerks. Reviewing their work and lifting their skills.
• Prepare and finalise annual financial statements for companies and trusts (with the team producing a portion under your review).
• Prepare corporate, individual and trust tax computations and manage submissions and provisional tax.
• Own and run our XPM workflow: job templates, deadlines and staff accountability across the compliance cycle.
• Manage client relationships and meetings, with clear, contextual communication.
• Keep the practice compliant and on time. SARS e-Filing, e@syFile / EMP501, VAT, COIDA, CIPC.

What you’ll need

• An accounting degree.
• Professional Accounting membership is an advantage. SAIPA, CA(SA) or equivalent.
• Solid practice experience preparing AFS and tax computations independently, to sign off level.
• Solid tax expertise, with experience in corporate, trust and individual tax.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and XPM (implementation experience a real advantage).
• SARS e-Filing, e@syFile and payroll systems proficiency.
• Real team leadership ability. Comfortable holding people accountable and developing them.
• Highly organised, systems driven and able to work without being chased.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and numerical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial information clearly.

Nice to have

• Independent review accreditation.
• Experience with Monday.com or similar workflow tools.
• Afrikaans and English.
