RESIDENT HEAD & MANAGER

Location: Stellenbosch

Employment Term: Full-time (Live-in)

Eikenhof Trust has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Resident Head & Manager for our high-quality female student accommodation facilities: Eikenhof Hostel and Eikenhof Manor in Stellenbosch.

We are seeking an exceptional woman who not only excels in administration and operational management, but who is also passionate about the holistic development, leadership formation, and care of young women (students) within a safe and supportive value-based environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

1. Student & Resident Management

  • Create a welcoming, homely atmosphere where 83 female students feel safe and respected.
  • Maintain personal contact with residents, provide emotional support, and ensure discipline in accordance with residence rules.
  • Oversee and work closely with the Head Student (Primaria) and House Committee (HK), including leadership training and weekly/monthly meetings.
  • Daily liaison with the Trust’s Managing Trustee.

2. Administration & Finance

  • Manage the complete student intake process, including advertising, applications, selection, contracting, and room allocation.
  • Handle the invoicing and collection of accommodation fees.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage petty cash on a daily basis for monthly auditing.
  • Liaise with parents.
  • Organize and host specific annual functions and events.

3. Facilities & Staff Management

  • Daily supervision and management of domestic staff.
  • Manage general maintenance, repairs, gardening services, security systems, emergency systems, and the upkeep of buildings and grounds.
  • Procure consumable supplies.

REQUIREMENTS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Qualifications: Relevant post-school qualification and a proven record of excellence in residence management, education, hospitality, general management, human resources, or other relevant experience.
  • Personality: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, transparency, and integrity.
  • Outstanding administrative ability with strong computer and record-keeping skills.
  • Availability: This position requires full-time residence at Eikenhof Hostel for 12 months of the year. Leave entitlement is 4 weeks per year.
  • Valid Driver’s License (a vehicle will be provided for work-related purposes).
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent Afrikaans is essential, with strong spoken and written communication skills. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and trustees in Afrikaans.

REMUNERATION PACKAGE
