Our client, a leading supplier of timber, board products, cut-and-edge services, and cabinetry hardware, is seeking a motivated and results-driven

External Sales Representative to join their team. This role is ideal for a sales professional with an established network within the timber, hardware, and building materials industry who enjoys developing new business while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Service existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities throughout KwaZulu-Natal.

- Call on independent hardware retailers, timber merchants, contractors, kitchen manufacturers, and other key customers.

- Promote the company's full range of timber, board products, cut-and-edge services, and cabinetry hardware.

- Prepare accurate quotations and follow up on customer orders.

- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through exceptional service.

- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to identify new opportunities.

- Achieve monthly sales, revenue, and gross margin targets.

- Provide regular sales reports and market feedback to management.

Minimum Requirements

- Proven external sales experience within the timber, board, hardware, building materials, or related industry is essential.

- Existing relationships with independent hardware stores, timber merchants, contractors, and manufacturers will be highly advantageous.

- Strong understanding of timber products, MDF, chipboard, melamine boards, and cut-and-edge services.

- Knowledge of cutting lists, mark-ups, gross profit, discounts, and pricing calculations.

- Experience using the K8 system will be advantageous.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.

- Valid South African driver's licence is essential.

- Applicants MUST currently reside in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
