Our client, a well-established supplier within the timber, board, and hardware industry, is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused
Internal Sales Consultant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing quotations, processing sales orders, and assisting customers with the selection of timber, board, and related products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with counter and telephonic sales enquiries.
- Provide expert product advice on timber, board products, hardware, and cut-and-edge services.
- Interpret customer cutting lists and specifications accurately.
- Prepare accurate quotations and process customer orders.
- Liaise closely with the production team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
- Achieve monthly sales and gross margin targets.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service delivery.
- Ensure all sales documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Resolve customer queries professionally and promptly.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience in timber, board, hardware, or cut-and-edge sales is essential.
- Strong knowledge of timber, MDF, chipboard, melamine, cabinetry products, and kitchen hardware.
- Excellent numerical ability with the capability to calculate percentages, mark-ups, and gross profit.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Experience using the K8 system will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Applicants must currently reside in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
