Astek Property Group is a dynamic construction and property company delivering projects across Gauteng. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team and take ownership of the full HR function across the business.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working closely with operational teams, and has a strong understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting management, ensuring compliance, driving recruitment, and fostering a positive and productive working environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and offboarding.
  • Coordinating recruitment and selection processes for both office and site-based employees.
  • Drafting employment contracts, maintaining employee records and ensuring accurate HR documentation.
  • Providing guidance and support to management on all HR and labour-related matters.
  • Managing disciplinary procedures, grievances, incapacity and poor performance processes.
  • Chairing disciplinary hearings and ensuring compliance with company policies and labour legislation.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Managing Employment Equity, Skills Development and other statutory HR requirements.
  • Developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with employee training, development and performance management initiatives.
  • Liaising with payroll regarding appointments, terminations, leave and employee changes.
  • Producing HR reports and maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
  • Promoting a positive workplace culture while balancing employee wellbeing with business objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Strong Labour Relations experience.
  • Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation.
  • Experience managing disciplinary processes and chairing hearings.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.

Advantageous

  • Experience within the construction, engineering or property industry.
  • Knowledge of Employment Equity and Skills Development reporting.
  • Exposure to payroll administration and HR information systems.

Market-related remuneration, with a budget of up to R26,500 CTC per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
