Our client, a well-established and expanding underground gold mining organisation based in Roodepoort , is looking to appoint an experienced Cost Accountant to join its finance team. Working alongside both finance and operational teams, you'll play a key role in monitoring production costs, improving efficiencies, and providing the financial insights that support sound business decisions. Broaden your leadership experience by overseeing key finance support functions. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly management accounts, costing reports, and financial analysis. Perform detailed variance analysis and present recommendations to management. Maintain and improve standard costing models to ensure accurate reporting. Partner with site operations to monitor production costs and identify efficiency improvements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Analyse mining costs and drive cost optimisation initiatives. Provide oversight and guidance to the Site Accountant, Payroll, and Procurement functions. Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and reporting requirements. Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualifications: BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CIMA qualification. Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Cost Accountant within underground gold mining. Strong background in management accounting and cost reporting. Proven experience with standard costing and variance analysis. Exposure to operational finance within a mining environment. Previous supervisory experience will be advantageous. Technical Skills: Sage X3 experience is essential. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
