Maintenance Manager (Forklifts and Equipment)
POSITION INFO
Roles and Responsibilities Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, ensuring efficient service delivery across all customer sites. Supervise, coach, and develop a team of technicians, artisans, apprentices, and support staff to drive performance and accountability. Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance, repair, and service activities to maximise productivity and minimise downtime. Monitor departmental financial performance, including budgets, labour recovery, profitability, and cost control initiatives. Manage maintenance contracts, ensuring SLA compliance, customer satisfaction, and contract profitability. Oversee work-in-progress (WIP), backlog management, job costing, invoicing, and timely job completion. Ensure compliance with company policies, OEM standards, ISO, and Occupational Health & Safety regulations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and first-time fix rates. Conduct performance reviews, implement training plans, and support succession planning within the maintenance team. Analyse operational data and KPIs to identify trends, improve service delivery, and support strategic decision-making. Collaborate with Sales, Parts, Workshop, Rental, Finance, and SHEQ departments to ensure seamless service delivery and customer support. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and external service providers to ensure high-quality service and timely support. Manage maintenance planning, technician capacity, resource allocation, overtime, and subcontractor requirements. Investigate customer complaints, equipment failures, and quality issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions. Prepare operational and financial reports for senior management, providing insights into departmental performance and improvement opportunities. Support business growth by identifying revenue opportunities, improving service offerings, and contributing to the company's long-term maintenance strategy.
