What You’ll Do
You’ll work across a wide range of mechanical maintenance and fault‑finding activities in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment. Your work will support critical equipment including conveyors, pneumatics, rotating equipment, bearings and plant machinery within a PLC-controlled environment.
- Perform preventative and breakdown mechanical maintenance
- Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment and bearings
- Fabricate and weld simple components or spare parts (desirable but not essential)
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Conduct risk assessments and promote safe work practices
- Collaborate closely with electrical, production and operations teams
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of machinery
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and notifications in SAP
What You’ll Bring
- Mechanical Fitter trade qualification (or international equivalent eligible for recognition)
- Experience in Pulp & Paper environment required to be considered for visa sponsorship
- Strong fault-finding capability across mechanical systems (conveyors, pneumatics, gearboxes and control equipment)
- Experience with PLC‑controlled equipment and working alongside electricians
- A safety-first mindset with understanding of Australian safety requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work in a hands‑on, sometimes dirty and reactive environment
