Our client is seeking a driven and professional Admitted Attorney within the Commercial and General Litigation Department in Bloemfontein to join their established legal team. Minimum requirement Matric Completed LLB degree Admitted Attorney of the High Court Minimum of 2 years' post-admission experience Experience in Commercial Litigation and Banking Litigation - will be a distinct advantage Proficient in Microsoft Office Fluent in English and Afrikaans Ability to work independently and manage matters efficiently Valid driver's license and own vehicle Skills required Strong drafting, analytical and litigation skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and time management skills Duties and responsibilities Manage a portfolio of commercial and general litigation matters from inception to finalisation Draft, review, and amend legal documents, including pleadings, notices, affidavits, agreements, opinions, and correspondence Conduct legal research and provide sound legal advice to clients on commercial and litigation-related matters Represent clients in the Magistrates' Courts and High Courts, where applicable Prepare matters for trial, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations Consult with clients, advocates, counsel, witnesses, and other relevant stakeholders Attend court appearances, pre-trial conferences, consultations, and case management meetings Develop litigation strategies and provide practical, commercially focused legal solutions Ensure compliance with court rules, practice directives, and statutory requirements Manage court deadlines and maintain accurate case files and records Brief and liaise with advocates and other legal professionals Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes in the best interests of clients Monitor the progress of matters and keep clients informed throughout the litigation process Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and stakeholders Mentor candidate attorneys and provide guidance where required Ensure accurate time recording, billing, and recovery in accordance with firm policies Stay abreast of developments in legislation, case law, and legal practice Contribute to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the Commercial and General Litigation Department Remuneration Negotiable Work hours Monday - Thursday: 08h00 - 17h00 Friday: 08h00 - 16h15 IMPORTANT: Applications close 31 July 2026 Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted No social media messages / comments will be responded to
