The Opportunity

Perfect Solutions is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Account & Activations Manager to lead the successful delivery of integrated marketing campaigns, retail activations, events and promotional programmes across South Africa and selected African markets.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for managing strategic client relationships while ensuring campaigns are planned, coordinated and executed to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary link between clients and internal departments, managing projects from briefing through execution and final reporting while ensuring every campaign is delivered on time, within budget and exceeds client expectations.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Account Manager and Activations Manager role based in Cape Town. The role is responsible for managing key client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact, and ensuring that client objectives are met through effective planning and execution of marketing activations. Day-to-day tasks include developing account plans, coordinating campaigns and activations, tracking performance against KPIs, and preparing clear, timely reports for clients and internal stakeholders. The role involves close collaboration with creative, media, finance, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions, as well as managing timelines, budgets, and project risks. The Account Manager and Activations Manager is expected to nurture long-term client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and maintain high service standards in line with Perfect Solutions’ commitment to quality and local market impact.

Key Requirement

  • Demonstrated experience in account management, client service, or project management within marketing, advertising, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute brand activations, campaigns, events, or integrated marketing programs from concept to completion.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder communication, relationship building, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with solid organizational, time-management, and prioritization capabilities.
  • Comfort with data analysis and reporting, including tracking KPIs, preparing performance summaries, and using insights to optimize campaigns.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, media planning, and CRM platforms, and an understanding of how different channels work together.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in or with African markets, with sensitivity to diverse cultures and local business practices, is highly beneficial.
  • Fluency in English and the ability to produce clear written documentation; additional regional languages are an advantage.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8 years' experience in Account Management, Brand Activations, Experiential Marketing or Promotions.
  • Proven experience within a marketing, advertising or brand activation agency.
  • Experience managing FMCG, Pharmaceutical or Retail clients.
  • Strong understanding of Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing and POSM execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing field teams, promoters and temporary staff.
  • Experience preparing quotations, budgets and campaign costings.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and client engagement skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
  • Valid South African driver's licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally when required.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Understand client objectives and develop strategic solutions.
  • Attend client meetings, presentations, campaign briefings and reviews.
  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction and service delivery.

Campaign & Project Management

  • Manage campaigns from concept through execution and final reporting.
  • Develop project plans, timelines and implementation schedules.
  • Coordinate production, procurement, logistics and staffing.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
  • Conduct campaign evaluations and post-project reporting.

Activations & Event Management

  • Coordinate retail activations, promotions and experiential campaigns.
  • Manage event logistics and on-site execution.
  • Recruit, brief and manage promotional staff and temporary teams.
  • Conduct store visits and quality assurance checks.
  • Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively during campaign execution.

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Prepare quotations, campaign budgets and cost estimates.
  • Manage Purchase Orders, invoicing and project reconciliations.
  • Track campaign profitability and financial performance.
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Deliver campaigns that achieve agreed Gross Profit targets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce operational costs.

Supplier & Production Management

  • Manage supplier relationships across production, logistics and event services.
  • Source quotations and negotiate pricing where required.
  • Coordinate production timelines and installation schedules.
  • Ensure supplier performance meets agreed quality and delivery standards.

Reporting & Communication

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Prepare campaign reports including photography, results and insights.
  • Ensure project documentation remains accurate and up to date.
  • Present campaign outcomes and recommendations to clients where required.

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to grow existing client accounts.
  • Introduce new services across current client portfolios.
  • Support new business presentations and pitches.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of Perfect Solutions across Africa.
