Accensis is looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our Business Process Outsourcing team.
This is a client-facing role providing outsourced accounting and consulting services to external clients. It is not an internal accountant position.

- Lead, supervise, coach and develop the accounting team.
- Plan and allocate client work according to staff capacity and experience.
- Manage projects from client onboarding and information requests through to completion, invoicing and fee collection.
- Monitor budgets, timesheets, staff recoverability, productivity and work-in-progress.
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards.
- Manage monthly accounting clients and maintain regular client communication.
- Review accounting records, working paper files and annual financial statements.
- Review financial statements for companies, close corporations, sole traders, partnerships, trusts and group consolidations.
- Review VAT, PAYE and income tax calculations, reconciliations and submissions.
- Review general ledger accounts, cash flows, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, debtors, creditors, stock and fixed asset registers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax legislation and internal quality-control procedures.
- Resolve client queries and operational issues promptly.
- Provide regular project and performance updates to management.
- Completed BCom Accounting degree.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- At least two years’ post-articles experience
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- Sound working knowledge of VAT, PAYE and income tax.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication, leadership and client-management skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Experience with Xero, CaseWare, SimplePay will be advantageous.
