Senior Full Stack Developer (AI Engineering Focus)

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join their team in Melrose. This office-based role is ideal for a technically strong software engineer who enjoys solving complex business challenges, building scalable applications and leveraging AI to improve software development and business processes. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable full stack applications.
• Build and support APIs and backend services using C# and .NET.
• Design, optimise and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Develop reliable, maintainable software solutions for business-critical systems.
• Apply AI-assisted development practices using approved enterprise AI platforms.
• Collaborate with business users to understand operational requirements.
• Improve and modernise existing applications and platforms.
• Mentor developers and contribute to technical best practices.
• Support CI/CD processes and ongoing platform enhancements.

Minimum Requirements

• Extensive experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
• Strong experience building APIs and backend services.
• Advanced PostgreSQL and SQL expertise.
• Experience with database design, optimisation and data modelling.
• Practical experience using AI tools in software engineering workflows.
• Strong understanding of relational and vector database architectures.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Exposure to React or Blazor will be advantageous.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and collaborate with business stakeholders.

• Fintech or financial services.
• Lending or regulated industries.
• Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and Power BI.
• POPIA awareness.
