SUMMARY

The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.

POSITION INFO

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Pr.Eng/Pr.Tech. registered Relevant post graduate qualifications albeit technical, management or business related could be advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience within the project engineering environment. At least 2 years Plant Commissioning experience Knowledge required: PLC's programming and fault diagnostics. Instrumentation calibration and fault finding. Instrumentation specification. Control system specification. Understanding of P&ID's and PFD's In depth understanding of networks and communication protocols Budgeting principles and control. Skills: Designing and developing new control systems Maintaining and modifying existing systems Managing operations Working collaboratively with design engineers, purchases and other internal staff Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities Project managing within cost and time constrained environments Troubleshooting and problem-solving Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards Writing computer software Commercial awareness. Team leadership skills. Listening to, interpreting and understanding feedback from clients and team members. Interpersonal motivational skills. Sound written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards. Planning, design, specification, costing, procurement, reporting, construction, commissioning and handover on Electrical system packages. Provide technical leadership to all dependent project disciplines. Management of suppliers and sub-contractors. Maintain the ECSA professional registration and manage own development.
