POSITION INFO

Requirements: National Diploma, BTech, BSc or BEng in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 1 year's experience in an automotive or similar engineering environment. Experience with component and/or system development and testing. Exposure to engineering data systems. Experience working within cross-functional teams. Strong technical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills. Knowledge of engineering change management processes. Understanding of quality, safety and reliability standards. Project planning and project management skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and report-writing abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Willingness to support continuous improvement and cost optimisation initiatives. Responsibilities : Design, develop, test and release vehicle components in accordance with engineering standards. Adapt global component designs to suit African market and environmental conditions. Apply preventative and corrective engineering tools, including DFMEA. Ensure components meet quality, safety and reliability requirements before production release. Prepare, maintain and update engineering documentation and technical data. Manage engineering changes in line with production build levels. Support production, localisation and cost optimisation initiatives. Participate in cross-functional engineering projects and technical forums. Assist in resolving technical and product-related issues. Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to ensure successful component implementation. Contribute to continuous improvement activities and engineering best practices.
