Quality Controller (2 Positions) Location: Cape Town Salary: R19,560 per month (Non-Negotiable)

Our client, a leading company in the frozen fruit and vegetable processing industry , has an exciting opportunity for two Quality Controllers to join their Quality Assurance team. The successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring the quality of raw materials, production processes and finished products to ensure that all products meet the highest food safety and quality standards. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in fresh fruit and vegetable handling and a passion for quality assurance within the food manufacturing sector. Key Responsibilities Inspect all incoming raw materials against specifications and release only compliant products to production. Record inspection findings and report all product rejections and non-conformances. Inspect incoming vehicles to ensure compliance with food safety requirements, including cleanliness and temperature control. Monitor and verify product quality during receiving, storage and production processes. Conduct shelf-life, pH, Brix and organoleptic testing. Verify that finished products meet all specifications prior to release and oversee product loading. Prepare and send samples for microbiological, heavy metal and MRL testing, while maintaining retention samples. Compile and maintain product specifications. Conduct monthly environmental swabs in accordance with the food safety management system. Complete food safety documentation, including driver checklists, cleaning records, glass and hard plastics registers, and personal hygiene inspections. Investigate and respond to customer queries and complaints. Interpret and report test results. Report non-conforming products and coordinate rework with the Quality Assurance team. Verify the daily calibration of scales, thermometers, refractometers and pH meters. Manage Certificate of Analysis (COA) queries. Order quality-related consumables and monitor packaging and chemical stock levels. Investigate stock on quality hold and release stock on Sage where appropriate. Participate in internal quality and food safety audits. Minimum Requirements Food Technologist qualification or equivalent (Non-Negotiable). 2-3 years'' experience working with fresh fruit and vegetables (Non-Negotiable). Previous experience in a food manufacturing, food processing or FMCG environment. Good understanding of food safety and quality management systems. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Good communication and problem-solving abilities. Computer literacy. Must be willing to work shifts.
