SUMMARY

Our client in Stellenbosch is seeking a Commercial Manager to manage delegated and already established clients. This includes all aspects of the supply and sales chain, including full trader related administration of all sales.

POSITION INFO

Minimum Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Commerce, or a related field Minimum 4-5 years' experience in the fruit export / commercial trading industry, with demonstrated ownership of client accounts (not only execution or support experience) Valid driver's license and own vehicle A proven track record taking initiative and solving problems independently Strong, precise administrative discipline - able to manage documentation and process accurately without repeated correction Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and minimal day-to-day supervision The ability to exercise discretion - flagging what matters, resolving what doesn't need input, and always ensuring key issues relating to financial, relationships and product impacts are communicated with management timeously Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally Willingness to work long and sometimes irregular hours in line with trading and shipping schedules Duties and Responsibilities: Client Ownership: Act as the primary point of contact for delegated client portfolio which will consist of a mix of air, sea and road freight. This client base needs to be managed, ensuring continuity of growth, service and trust that the Company has built up until now Costing / Prices Take full responsibility for pricing strategy on existing lines - prepare, analyze and adjust pricing weekly to ensure Company's minimum gross profit targets are met Logistics Engage with Logistic Coordinator to ensure all functions within the logistics chain are completed on time and in full. This covers export documentation, compliance with international trade regulations and all logistical functions that fall within your scope Sourcing and Stock Management Liaise with packhouses and suppliers to ensure product availability, manage packed stock and the purchasing of additional goods for own client base and orders. Attention to stock management and immediate reaction to moving older stock Packhouse Visits Conduct regular packhouse visits to oversee packing quality and standards, flagging and resolving issues along with Quality Manager Reporting Complete weekly feedback report to management within existing framework Communication Ensure full transparent communication within working team and management Administration Daily capturing of trades on Proudly Trade Portal, this includes price verification and load integrity to ensure data and loads match accurately Claims Ensure all claims are handled and dealt with within Company protocol Support Role Provide operational and administrative support within the commercial team as and when needed PLEASE NOTE : Thank you for your interest in this position, we will review and be in touch if you are suitable.
