Junior Software Tester

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

Work collaboratively with vendors, customers, and internal groups to test software, document bugs or problems, and track and implement fixes.

JUNIOR SOFTWARE TESTER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication with vendors, customers, and internal groups

• Communicate with various stakeholders on testing that needs to be done on software systems

Perform tests

• Perform tests on software systems, which include Client-side hardware, such as routers, switches, IP Phones, and Server-side
• Document all tests.
• Write new test cases and improve on the existing test cases and test procedures.

Report bugs or problems

• Report bugs or problems to the stakeholders. Create reports based on bugs or problems reported

Track fixes for bugs or problems reported

• Track bugs or problem fixes that were reported and communicate feedback to stakeholders.

Implement and test fixes provided

• Upgrade client or server-side hardware with the provided fixes.
• Test and troubleshoot the provided fixes

Ad hoc duties

• You may be asked to undertake reasonable additional duties/projects requested by the Department Manager/Director

REQUIREMENTS

Internal training associated with competencies

• During the first week of your employment, you'll be presented with a meticulously crafted learning map designed to seamlessly guide you through your on-the-job training experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Computer science-related degree/diploma/certificate.
• Understanding of different broadband services.

Minimum Experience

• 1-2 years of software testing experience would be beneficial.
• Python and Linux software experience.
• Understand the TR069 amendment understanding.
• Understanding of different broadband services.
• The candidate must possess good networking and programming skills. This role requires a solid foundational understanding of computer networks, as well as the ability to use Python programming.

Physical Requirements

• Valid driver's license and own vehicle
• Fibre connectivity at home (fibre line rental included as a benefit).

Office Requirements

• Office-based working environment.
• Semi-formal dress code.
• Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00.
• Excellent international business language skills (English), both written and verbal.
• Reliable transport to and from the office.

• This is a permanent position subject to a successful three-month probationary period.
• You will be required to perform such duties as reasonably required by the business.
