The League of Companies Group
We’re Hiring: FinOps Engineer
The League of Companies is seeking an experienced, hands-on FinOps Engineer to support the Cloud Centre of Excellence of a leading financial services organisation.
This role will operationalise cloud financial management across AWS and Microsoft Azure - turning complex billing and usage data into actionable insights, automated controls and measurable optimisation outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Build reliable cloud cost visibility, allocation and showback across business units, products and applications
- Drive tagging, data quality, anomaly detection and cost-governance controls
- Identify and implement rightsizing, scheduling, cleanup, licensing and commitment optimisation opportunities
- Support Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Azure Reservations and Azure Hybrid Benefit
- Develop dashboards, reports, integrations and workflow automation
- Operationalise and increase adoption of the MagicOrange FinOps platform
- Support cloud budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and executive reporting
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security and business stakeholders
- Track realised savings, avoided costs and optimisation actions
- Strengthen auditability and governance in a regulated financial services environment
What we’re looking for
- 5–8+ years’ relevant experience across FinOps, cloud engineering, cloud operations, IT financial management, infrastructure or technology cost management
- Hands-on AWS and Azure cost-management experience
- Strong knowledge of cloud pricing, tagging, allocation, budgets, anomaly detection and commitment optimisation
- Experience building dashboards, queries, scripts, integrations or automation
- Exposure to tools such as MagicOrange, Power BI, SQL, Python, PowerShell, APIs, Snowflake, JDE or cloud-native reporting platforms
- Strong financial, analytical and stakeholder-management capability
- FinOps Certified Practitioner, or willingness to obtain it within an agreed period
Experience within financial services, regulatory or audit environments - and exposure to Jira, ServiceNow, Datadog, Kubernetes or infrastructure as code - will be advantageous.
This opportunity is suited to someone who can bridge cloud engineering, financial insight and business value - not simply report on cloud spend.
