Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner

The ECD practitioner will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their emotional, social, and cognitive development. The teacher must have a deep understanding of early childhood education, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing a safe and supportive space for children to thrive.
Curriculum Planning and Implementation
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the principles of early childhood education
- Implement the curriculum that focuses on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to engage and inspire young learners
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Use effective behavior management for respect and cooperation
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork for a sense of community
Assessment and Progress Tracking
- Continuously assess each child's progress
- Keep accurate records of achievements and areas for improvement
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's development
Parental Involvement
- Build rapport with parents through regular communication
- Hold conferences to discuss children's development and concerns
- Offer resources for home learning support
Safety and Well-being
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom
- Implement health and safety protocols in accordance with regulatory standards
- Respond promptly to any safety concerns and communicate effectively with parents and administrators
Qualification and Experience
- NQF level 4 Certificate in ECD
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience
