Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner

The ECD practitioner will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their emotional, social, and cognitive development. The teacher must have a deep understanding of early childhood education, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing a safe and supportive space for children to thrive.

Curriculum Planning and Implementation

Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the principles of early childhood education
Implement the curriculum that focuses on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
Utilize a variety of teaching methods to engage and inspire young learners

Classroom Management

Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Use effective behavior management for respect and cooperation
Encourage collaboration and teamwork for a sense of community

Assessment and Progress Tracking

Continuously assess each child's progress
Keep accurate records of achievements and areas for improvement
Communicate effectively with parents about their child's development

Parental Involvement

Build rapport with parents through regular communication
Hold conferences to discuss children's development and concerns
Offer resources for home learning support

Safety and Well-being

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom
Implement health and safety protocols in accordance with regulatory standards
Respond promptly to any safety concerns and communicate effectively with parents and administrators

Qualification and Experience

NQF level 4 Certificate in ECD
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience
