Senior Java Developer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer to join a fast-growing technology business operating within the fintech and digital financial services space. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable backend systems, and contributing directly to product development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications.
• Build and enhance distributed microservices within a modern architecture.
• Collaborate with product and technical teams to deliver new platform features.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Support production systems and assist with troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and documentation standards.
• Contribute to technical debt reduction and continuous platform improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Java development experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating at a Senior Developer level.
• Strong experience with Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience building distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Strong SQL and database design expertise, particularly PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS platforms.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and development lifecycles.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
