General Manager: Financial Control

Purpose

Overall development, implementation and maintenance of sound financial control of the business through compliance, governance, reporting and analysis.

Ideal industries: FMCG (fast moving consumable goods), restaurant / franchise chains, hospitality

Office based

• Financial control and compliance management
• People management
• Reporting and presentation
• Business development and stakeholder engagement

• CA (SA) – additional CIMA (advantageous to have both but not mandatory) / CFA / MBA
• 7-10 years’ experience in a relevant financial management position

• Report writing and presentation skills (Advanced)
• Strategic, financial and business acumen (Advanced)
• IFRS and Companies Act knowledge (Advanced)
• Tax legislation knowledge (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, etc.) (Advanced)
• Proficient Excel skills and computer literacy (Advanced)
• People management skills (Advanced)
• Communication skills – written and verbal (Advanced)
• General financial and reporting systems – at least one (Advanced)
• Experience with senior management/exco engagement (Advanced)
