Introduction

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a leading professional services organisation based in Illovo. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end operational procurement function, ensuring strong governance, supplier management, procurement compliance, process improvement, and leading a small procurement team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving procurement best practices, improving operational efficiencies, and supporting business stakeholders through effective procurement management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day procurement function and ensure compliance with procurement policies and delegated authority levels.
  • Manage procurement processes including purchase orders, supplier onboarding, vendor management, and procurement controls.
  • Maintain procurement systems, supplier records, and approved vendor databases.
  • Produce procurement reporting, spend analysis, and supplier performance reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and implement best practice initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor the Procurement Administration team.
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding, due diligence, supplier reviews, and BBBEE documentation.
  • Manage supplier performance and assist with supplier consolidation initiatives.
  • Coordinate RFQs, RFPs, RFIs and tender administration.
  • Support contract administration, contract renewals, and procurement governance.
  • Monitor procurement compliance and audit readiness.
  • Assist with sourcing strategies across procurement categories.
  • Support Finance, Risk and IT with procurement-related projects and process improvements.
  • Manage procurement records relating to insurance and supplier compliance.
  • Contribute towards maintaining BBBEE procurement compliance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' procurement experience within a corporate environment.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a procurement team.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement operations and supplier management.
  • Experience working with ERP procurement systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with procurement reporting and spend analysis.
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance and compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to improve procurement processes and implement operational efficiencies.

Advantageous

  • CIPS membership.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems.
  • Knowledge of BBBEE procurement requirements.
  • Experience within a professional services environment.
