Our client in the Steel Industry has a vacancy for a Workshop Supervisor (Engineering Workshop) in Rustenburg.

POSITION INFO

About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Engineering Workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising fabrication activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards while meeting production deadlines. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all activities within the Engineering Workshop. Manage daily fabrication and manufacturing operations. Allocate work to artisans and workshop personnel according to production priorities. Ensure all fabrication is completed according to approved drawings and specifications. Monitor productivity and ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines. Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process. Enforce health, safety, and housekeeping standards at all times. Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and maintained. Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. Liaise with Production, Planning, Quality Control, and Management regarding job progress. Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to workshop personnel. Complete daily production reports and communicate workshop performance to management. Minimum Requirements Minimum 5 years'''' experience as a Workshop Supervisor in a steel fabrication, engineering, or construction environment. Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings. Proven leadership and people management skills. Excellent planning, organising, and problem-solving abilities. Strong focus on quality, safety, and meeting production deadlines. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) is advantageous. Valid driver''''s licence will be an advantage. Preferred Experience Experience supervising fabrication teams in a structural steel or SMPP environment. Knowledge of welding processes and fabrication quality requirements. Experience with production planning and workshop scheduling. Personal Attributes Strong leadership and decision-making ability. Self-motivated and results-driven. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
