Our machine operator role plays an important part in the Woodwork Department by preparing solid timber furniture for the next stage of production through careful preparation work and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate small woodwork machines eg. Stand drill, Rip saw, Thickness planer
  • Use small hand tools safely and correctly during preparation processes
  • Prepare furniture pieces according to production and quality requirements
  • Inspect workpieces for defects, gaps, cracks, or areas requiring attention
  • Ensure preparation work is completed neatly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle timber furniture and materials carefully to avoid damage
  • Follow instructions from the line manager and production team
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness within the work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Report quality concerns, unsafe conditions, or tool issues to the supervisor
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required by the line manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in woodwork, furniture manufacturing, woodwork tools, or a similar production environment advantageous
  • Basic understanding of safety and PPE requirements
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours when required
