POSITION INFO

Job Purpose The Project Manager will play a critical role in shaping and implementing a holistic strategy for managing information assets. The role supports the assessment, development, and implementation of compliance and regulatory initiatives within the Records Management Department. The incumbent will ensure that project deliverables align with recognised project management standards and relevant regulatory frameworks, including the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa (NARSSA), POPIA, and PAIA. The role requires coordination across multiple programmes and stakeholders to ensure integrated delivery, compliance, and improved operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Information Technology, BCom, or equivalent Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent (preferred) Experience and Knowledge 8-10 years' experience in project management, preferably within records management or information governance environments Proven experience implementing records management and governance frameworks in regulated organisations Technical / Functional Competencies Strong knowledge of records and information management principles and regulatory requirements Sound understanding of NARSSA, POPIA, and PAIA Excellent project planning, execution, and risk management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Experience with SharePoint or similar records management systems (advantageous) Key Duties and Responsibilities Financial / Shareholder Returns Define, monitor, and report on performance metrics for executive reporting. Manage project budgets, resources, and capacity to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery. Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and objectives. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle. Internal / Operational Processes Facilitate and manage large-scale Microsoft SharePoint and records management initiatives. Analyse existing systems and processes and recommend improvements aligned with best practice. Provide specialist advice and support to ensure solutions are practical, compliant, and effective. Apply project management methodologies consistently across all initiatives. Drive continuous improvement in quality, service delivery, and work outputs. Ensure alignment between project execution and regulatory compliance requirements. Customer Focus & Stakeholder Management Develop detailed project plans, identify required resources, and manage project execution. Track and report on project and programme-level performance metrics. Capture and maintain accurate project data within programme and project management tools. Engage stakeholders to understand records and information management requirements. Provide regular progress and compliance updates to senior management. Design and deliver training and awareness programmes on records and information management best practices.
