Our client, a well-established manufacturer within the decorative paints industry, is seeking an experienced Colour Matcher / Tint & Colour Technician to join their production team in Cape Town.

This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for colour accuracy, quality, and paint manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that products consistently meet colour standards and customer specifications.

  • Match paint colours accurately to customer samples and approved standards.
  • Tint and adjust paint batches to achieve precise colour consistency.
  • Conduct colour corrections and shade adjustments where required.
  • Operate colour matching equipment, including spectrophotometers.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished products.
  • Maintain accurate formulation and batch records.
  • Work closely with the Production, Laboratory, Quality and Technical teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve colour-related production issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
  • Minimum Grade 12.
  • Relevant qualification in Paint Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field will be advantageous.
  • 3–5 years' experience in colour matching within a paint manufacturing or coatings environment.
  • Experience with decorative or architectural paints is highly advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of pigments, tinting systems and paint formulations.
  • Experience using colour measurement equipment such as spectrophotometers (e.g. Datacolor, X-Rite or similar).
  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures.
  • Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent attention to detail and colour perception.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet production deadlines.
