SUMMARY

Meat Traders is looking for reliable and hard-working Jumpers to support abattoir, dispatch and delivery operations. The role includes moving carcasses and meat products, assisting with order picking and dispatch, and accompanying the driver on deliveries as a truck assistant to help with off-loading, delivery support and proof of delivery requirements.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Load, off-load and move carcasses and meat products between slaughter, cold rooms, cutting and dispatch areas.
• Pick and assemble customer orders accurately according to picking slips or delivery notes.
• Wrap, label and stage products for dispatch and assist with loading delivery vehicles.
• Accompany the driver on deliveries and assist with off-loading products at customer sites.
• Help check deliveries against invoices or delivery notes and obtain customer signatures where required.
• Assist the driver with route support, safe reversing, communication and any delivery-related issues on the road.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas and assist in keeping the truck clean and orderly.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, health and safety and PPE requirements at all times.
• Assist team members and supervisors with any reasonable operational tasks to meet daily targets.

POSITION INFO

Minimum requirements Grade 10-12. Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy carcasses, boxes and products during loading and deliveries. Able and willing to work in a cold environment and in an abattoir setting. Willing to work early mornings, Saturdays and public holidays as required by operations. Willing to travel locally with the driver and assist with customer deliveries. Previous experience in an abattoir, butchery, meat-processing, dispatch or delivery environment will be an advantage. Competencies and attributes Reliable, punctual and committed to attendance. Able to follow instructions and standard operating procedures. Attention to detail when checking products, labels, quantities and delivery paperwork. Team player with a positive, cooperative attitude. Able to deal with customers professionally during deliveries. Strong work ethic and willingness to perform manual, physical work.
