SUMMARY

Our client, a well-established manufacturer in the industrial coatings and protective sealing space, is seeking a highly meticulous, tenacious, and assertive SHEQ Officer to join their Durban manufacturing operation. In this role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be the custodian of safety, health, environmental, and quality standards across all company sites. This role is hands-on and requires a candidate to drive compliance and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities: Maintain and continually improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring effective implementation across all sites Ensure a safe working environment is upheld across all sites, in line with COIDA, OSHA, and all other relevant regulations and legal requirements Provide quality and safety advice and support directly to Production and Site teams Manage quality control processes end-to-end, gaining an acute understanding of production processes and quality requirements Ensure the Durban site is maintained to a clean, audit-ready, and presentable standard at all times Execute all reasonable instructions and special requests from Senior Management timeously and without compromise Compile clear, concise compliance and quality reporting for the Managing Director Minimum Requirements: Minimum tertiary qualification related to SHEQ A chemistry-related qualification would be advantageous Own vehicle and valid driver's license (non-negotiable) Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Minimum 5 years' extensive experience in a similar SHEQ role within a manufacturing environment Personality Traits: Meticulous and detail-driven, able to spot a compliance gap or quality deviation before it becomes a problem Assertive communicator, comfortable halting a process or escalating to Senior Management when standards aren't met Tenacious in following through on corrective actions until they're permanently resolved Remuneration: R28 000 - R32 000 + Medical Aid + Cell Allowance + 13th Cheque + 14th Cheque (Performance) *
