Our client is seeking a Software and Systems Production Line Engineer to join their growing technology team in Johannesburg. This is an excellent opportunity for an Industrial Engineering graduate with a passion for software, systems optimisation, and automation who is looking to build a career within a technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and improve production line documentation.
  • Optimise input and output data production workflows.
  • Monitor production systems to ensure stability, reliability and uptime.
  • Support and enhance the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyse system performance and recommend enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot production, software and data-related issues.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to development standards, documentation and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering (4-year qualification) from an accredited institution.
  • 2–3 years' relevant industry experience.
  • Interest in software and systems development.
  • Experience using documentation tools such as GitHub and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Exposure to at least one scripting or application development language such as Python, C#, JavaScript, Lua or similar.
  • Experience working with C++ and other compiled programming languages.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead or coordinate a small team.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Agile or iterative development methodologies.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and automation.
  • Methodical approach to debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
