Cloud Engineer (Azure / Databricks) (Senior)

Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud infrastructure within an enterprise data environment. This opportunity is ideal for a senior cloud professional with strong Azure and Databricks expertise who enjoys building cloud-native platforms that enable advanced analytics and data product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise data platforms.
• Build and maintain Azure landing zones, networking, identity, and core cloud services.
• Implement and optimise Azure Databricks environments for data engineering workloads.
• Support cloud security, governance, and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers to ensure reliable cloud deployments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and improve platform availability.
• Contribute to cloud architecture, automation, and operational best practices.
• Produce technical documentation and support operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years' experience in cloud infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services.
• Proven experience administering Azure Databricks environments.
• Experience with cloud networking, security, storage, and identity management.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation tools.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Advantageous

• Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Knowledge of enterprise data platforms and analytics environments.
• Experience within large-scale enterprise or consulting environments.
