Role Purpose
The successful candidates will serve as External Moderators for the following programmes:
- Diploma in Nursing
- Diploma in Midwifery
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct objective and impartial evaluations of student assessments.
- Confirm that assessment approaches are dependable, valid, practical, and aligned with learning outcomes.
- Work closely with the Internal Examiner throughout the assessment process.
- Moderate examination papers, memoranda, and examination scripts to ensure quality and consistency.
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations arising from the moderation process.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of examination papers and students’ scripts.

Semester 1
- Antenatal Care Theory (MID 117-4)
- Antenatal Care Practicum (MID 117-3)
- Labour and Childbirth Theory (MID 119-4)
- Labour and Childbirth Practicum (MID 119-5)
Semester 2
- Postnatal Care Theory (MID 126-2)
- Postnatal Care Practicum (MID 126-3)
- Care of the Neonate Theory (MID 127-3)
- Care of the Neonate Practicum (MID 127-4)
- Research Project (MID 107-7)
Important Note
- Applicants may apply for a maximum of two (2) theoretical modules per academic year, which means only one module per semester.
- For practical modules, applicants may apply for a maximum of two (2) modules per semester or four (4) modules per academic year.
Qualifications And Experience
Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Education or an equivalent qualification.
- Applicants with an LQF Level 8, 9, or 10 Nursing qualification will have an added advantage.
- Have at least two (2) years’ experience as an Internal Examiner.
- Have at least three (3) years’ teaching experience or clinical instruction at a Nursing Education Institution or equivalent.
- Be registered with the relevant Nursing Council.

- Computer literacy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
- High standards of professional ethics.
